Description
Here we see the Dumpling from Banh bao , to a hot Japanese garlicy dumpling called Gyoza. These dumplings on the photo are strange but, the more familiar specie are the tortellini, the pierogi, wonton and the ravioli . Most dumplings are fillings ( beef, pork , scallions shrimp ) surrounded with flour and egg dough. The variations are astronomical . The dumplings may be dipped in soy sauce or a sweet fish sauce. Note the Har Gow are sometimes referred to as a Shrimp Bonnet.
Cook's Illustrated the great culinary publication is the source of this photo. John Burgoyne illustrated the back cover of the magazine. If you love to cook this publication is a must.
